Frequently Asked Questions

Clothing: There are aprons available however working with clay can messy so wear clothing that can get dirty and stained. For throwing, you can also bring an old bath towel to minimize clay on your clothes.
Shoes: Wear sneakers that can get dirty. No shoes with a heel as it becomes difficult to control the electric throwing wheel.
Hands: Short (very short) nails work the best. If that is not possible, don’t worry as there are some ways to work around it but know that it is a little more difficult to deal with.

Handbuilding: For handbuilding you sit at a table so you can always adjust to be comfortable.
Throwing: Throwing is quite intensive on the body so this could be an issue. The way you sit at the throwing wheel is very specific and you need to be able to use a lot of strength with your upper body. Please contact me if you have issues and we can see together if this would work.
